SAB has educated Germany’s best Cable-Maker again!

When Max Eske got the invitation to come to Berlin together with his trainer Achim Harmes for the decoration of the best trainee on federal level, he was very proud and excited. At last on 14th December 2015 he should be honoured together with 230 best trainees by the DIHK – “Dachorganisation aller IHKs” (parent organisation of all chambers of commerce)  for their excellent exams supported by the DIHK president Prof. Dr. Eric Schweizer, the national minister of justice Heiko Maas and the presenter Barbara Schöneberg (popular moderator in Germany). The reason for this decoration was that no other graduate as cable manufacturing mechanic on federal level reached the total result of 100%.

This meant: Max was the best!

But how is it possible for a medium-sized cable specialist from Süchteln to present the best trainee several times? The answer of the trainer Achim Harmes sounds rather simple: “ The permanent success can only be reached by a continually improved apprenticeship – that´s what we have done during the last years.  This is also shown by the fact that the other trainees also have best marks. Altogether the SAB-trainees have reached superior results. Already in the past SAB based the company´s success on a solid instruction and training of its competent staff members.

While doing the exam he met Hannelore Kraft, prime minister of North-Rhine Westphalia. Mrs. Kraft praised SAB’s engagement in traineeship in time of demographic change.

We are going to optimise our training concept continuously in order to ensure that we will also in future belong to the best apprenticing companies. It is our aim to develop and produce first class products “Made in Germany” – this is only possible with the best, so Peter Bröckskes, C.E.O. of the company.

He is also very glad that all trainees could be employed on a permanent basis. In August 2015  eleven new trainees have been appointed in Viersen and thus the prospects of the best of tomorrow have been laid. The expectations on the new trainees are high. Achim Harmes, nevertheless, is sure that the SAB concept of training will prove itself.

Nation's best trainee again from Viersen

Andreas Frescher, A-level graduate of Clara-Schumann grammar school Dülken and since 2012 apprentice for cable production mechanic with SAB Bröckskes GmbH & Co. KG in Viersen-Süchteln, has been invited this year to the nation's "Honouring the Best"-event of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Through narrations of SAB's nation's Best of the former six training years he had a general idea of the event but belonging to Germany's Best himself was overwhelming for him.

The journey to Berlin to the MARITIM Hotel in Stauffenberg Street started on December, 8th. There, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce honoured the nation's best apprentices already for the ninth time. In 2014, more than 320,000 young women and men finished their apprenticeships, whereof only 232 from 223 various professions became nation's best. Andreas Frescher from Viersen is one of those 232 best. Full of anticipation, he follows the welcome speech of Dr Eric Schweitzer, president of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The following presentation of the event is again held by the entertainer Barbara Schöneberger. With joke and charm, she wins the audience's full attention and Frescher is enthusiastic about meeting her personally. Keynote speaker this year is Germany's Minister for Economic Affairs, Sigmar Gabriel.

Andreas Frescher recapitulates his apprenticeship not without pride: "The apprenticeship with SAB Bröckskes was very demanding but during the training time, the apprentices have been supported by the whole company team, especially by our training supervisor, Achim Harmes. I learned a lot from him and he answered all of our questions. Furthermore, he accompanied me to the nation's best event in Berlin." Naturally, Andreas Frescher and his six training colleagues have been taken over by SAB Bröckskes in Viersen and thus, will contribute to the success of the company also in the future.

Year's best student wrote bachelor thesis with SAB

The year's best student of the study course International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) of Fontys International Business School Venlo wrote her bachelor thesis with the company SAB Bröckskes GmbH & Co. KG in Süchteln. With that and for the first time, SAB Bröckskes supervised a student who got the highest mark for her bachelor thesis and even received the Fontys International Business School prize for the best thesis with the highest practical value.

After Kim Bexten had received the highest possible grade, a 10.0, for her thesis from the examination board of Fontys University and by that, passed her studies as the only one of 90 fellow students with distinction (cum laude), she was nominated by an external committee of economic experts for this year’s Fontys International Business School prize for the study course IBMS. On 10th Juli 2014, the graduation ceremony took place in Theatre De Maasport in Venlo, where she, together with two other nominees, was asked on stage. There, the chairwoman of the external committee (‘College van Gecommitteerden’), Frau Anita de Groot, announced that Kim Bexten with her thesis about trade fairs receives the prize. The day after the graduation ceremony in Venlo, Kim Bexten recapitulated the last five months with SAB.

“I decided to do my graduation work placement with SAB Bröckskes because on one hand, I found the proposed project about the development of a new trade fair concept very exciting and additionally, I wanted to support a regional company with my work. Moreover, getting to know the working atmos- phere of a medium-sized company was appealing to me after I had done my first internship with a global player. In so doing, I realized that medium-sized companies offer a lot of advantages like, for instance, short communication and decision-making channels as well as a flat hierarchy. In addition, the working atmosphere with a family-owned business is way more personally”, as the IBMS year’s best said.

Peter Bröckskes, CEO of SAB Bröckskes and full of proud, also gives a positive summary of the work placement supervision at SAB Bröckskes. “Our aim for the future is to stay on the top of cable producers. Due to our internship offer for graduates, we as a company receive the newest scientific know-how and by that, are able to combine it with our long-term experiences in the cable industry in order to improve the quality of our products and to evoke innovations”, said the CEO.

With Kim's result, SAB Bröckskes is not only on course for further success in regard to apprenticeships but also in regard to scholastics. Since 1994, SAB has evoked the state’s best cable production mechanics, since 2006 in each year of training also the country’s best, and in 2014 supervene the best graduates of business administration as well. SAB Bröckskes offers students graduation topics in the fields of engineering and business administration.

When Marc Werner Prokesch got the invitation to come to Berlin together with his trainer Achim Harmes for the decoration of the best trainee on federal level, he was very proud and excited. The reason for this decoration was that no other graduate as cable manufacturing mechanic on federal level reached the total result of 97%. This meant: Marc was the best!

But how is it possible for a medium-sized cable specialist from Süchteln to present 4 times in series the best trainee on federal level? The answer of the trainer Achim Harmes sounds rather simple: “ The permanent success can only be reached by a continually improved apprenticeship – that´s what we have done during the last years. This is also shown by the fact that the other trainees also have best marks. Altogether, the SAB-trainees have reached superior results with four times mark “1” and two times mark “2” (among those first and second place of the best trainees in NRW). Already in the past SAB based the company´s success on a solid instruction and training of its competent staff members. As a consequence, SAB Bröckskes presented 10 times in series recently with Marc Werner Prokesch the best cable manufacturing mecanic.
